Al-Mukalla secured a place in the Round of 16 of the Republic Cup following a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Tadhamon Shabwa, after regular time ended in a 0-0 draw at the late Baradam Stadium.

Both teams created scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes, but strong defensive displays kept the match scoreless. In the penalty shootout, Al-Mukalla earned the win after goalkeeper Salem Banafea stopped two spot-kicks.

With this result, Al-Mukalla is set to face Waheed Aden in the Round of 16.
