Wehda Sana'a secured their place in the Round of 16 of the Republic Football Cup (2025–2026 season) following a 2-0 victory against Ahli Taiz in the Round of 32 clash held on Tuesday at Al-Shohada Stadium in Taiz.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Ahmed Maher converted a penalty kick in just the second minute of play to put Wehda Sana'a ahead. Despite conceding early, Ahli Taiz gradually grew into the game and controlled the tempo for most of the first half, though they struggled to create clear-cut scoring chances before the referee blew for half-time.

In the second half, Wehda Sana'a doubled their lead in the 60th minute when Ahmed Maher completed his brace with a clever header, capitalizing on a brilliant assist from Asad Al-Din Qasim. Wehda Sana'a managed the remaining minutes effectively to hold onto their 2-0 lead until the final whistle, sealing a deserved win and advancing to the next round of the tournament.
